Golf
Buncrana Golf Course, A secret delight and one of the lesser known golf clubs in the area, Buncrana Golf Club is a superb seaside 9-hole links course, offering superb views all around. The course is situated overlooking the beautiful "White Strand" on the shores of the Lough Swilly and offers a challenging round of golf to players of all handicaps.

The Buncrana Golf Club is the oldest 9-hole links course in Ireland and is maintained to the highest standard. There is always a friendly welcome for new members and visitors alike. More information available at Buncrana Golf Club

The Northwest Golf Club was founded in 1890 and is directly opposite The Harbour Inn. Guests of the hotel can benefit from a discounted price. The Northwest is an exceptional winter course, with greens and fairways, kept in excellent condition and 18 spectacular holes. More information available at North West Golf Club

Ballyliffin Golf Club

Wild Alpaca Way

Wild Ireland
Located on the Wild Atlantic Way, Wild Ireland is one of the newest attractions in the North West of Ireland. Cycling
The Inishowen 100 scenic drive is also the perfect cycle route. It has a sign posted trail with the most specatcular views of the pennisula. The route passes most of the tourist attractions and places of interest from hiking, golf to fishing and from the outstanding beaches to dolphin watching at Malin Head.
 
Walking & Climbing
The lonely rugged hills, hidden glens and miles of trails that surround Inishowen are a must for the walker. For those seeking less challenging rambles we recommend the shore path starting at Buncrana Castle and following the coast for a little over a mile and a half to the shore of Stragill Strand. For nature lovers, Inch Wildfowl Reserve where you can enjoy a nice peaceful walk which has many lookout points to catch a glimpse of the unique birds that reside there. For more advanced walkers/hikers we recommend the Urris Lakes Loop or Slieve Snaght (The highest mountain in Inishowen). All of which are an easy acccessible drive from the hotel.

Equestrian

Blue Flag Beaches
Buncrana has some of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. From secluded, private coves, to long family-perfect strands and Blue Flag beaches. Nothing rejuvenates the mind and body better than a stroll along a sandy beach enjoying the roar of the breakers crashing on the shore.
 
Surfing
Inishowen has some of the most consistent waves in Ireland due to its exposure to South West, West and Northerly/North easterly swells. Its long stretches of golden, sandy beaches make for safe conditions for beginners. More Information: Inishowen Surf School
 
Inish Adventures
Inish Adventures offer a variety of water and land based activities. Primarily based in Moville, 25 minute drive from Buncrana, where they offer a wonderful experience exploring from kayaking, surfing, sailing and their inflatable water sports obstacle course. A truely amazing family day out!
Inish Adventures also offer kayaking in nearby Dunree, where you can explore the beautiful waters of Lough Swilly.

Angling
The Buncrana Angling Association controls the Crana River and Fullerton reservoir. The Crana River is a 12km long spate river which tends to fish late with good runs of grilse and sea trout during July. Fullerton reservoir is 400 acres in size and has a large population of both wild and stocked brown trout. For more information: Fishing in Buncrana
 
Doagh Famine Village
This outdoor museum tells the story of life in this area back to the Famine in the 1940s. The Centre is designed not to divide on religious grounds but to show a view of past Irish history. Feel free to browse at your leisure and take photographs, Doagh Famine Village
 
Glenveagh National Park
Glenveagh National Park is one of six national parks in Ireland. Situated in the Northwest of Co. Donegal, Glenveagh encompasses some 16,000 acres in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains. Such a great wilderness is the home of many interesting plants and animals. These lands were managed as a private deer forest before becoming a national park in 1975. Fort Dunree
Fort Dunree, Dun Fhraoigh in Irish means, “Fort of the Heather” and indicates that this site has been an important defensive site down through history. Crolly Distillery

Only 1 hours drive from the Inn is Northern Ireland"s iconic World Heritage Site and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, home to a wealth of local history and legend. The "Old Bushmills" Distillery is the world"s Oldest Licensed Whisky Distillery and has been legally producing Irish Malt Whisky since 1608 when Sir Thomas Phillips was empowered to issue licenses by King James I.
